The Pacific Men’s Tennis team went 1-1 against Big West Conference opponents. On Saturday, the Cal Poly Mustangs defeated Pacific 5-2 in a highly competitive battle. Cal Poly played very well and competed very hard as they always do. However, the Tigers responded well with a big victory over the dangerous UCSB Gauchos by a score of 4-1. The Tigers are now 13-6 in the regular season and 3-1 in Big West Play. UC Irvine, Cal Poly, Hawaii, and Pacific are all now 3-1.
The Tigers will travel to Stanford on Tuesday to compete against the 41st ranked Cardinals. The Cardinals have had an average year for Stanford, however, are very dangerous and young. They just beat Utah and Arizona and barely lost a 4-3 match to #7 Pepperdine. The Tigers are looking forward to a great match before traveling to play UC Irvine and UC Riverside to end the regular season.
